Town Offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th, 2026, as we remember the contributions of America’s workers to the strength and prosperity of our nation.
Through Labor Day we honor the work laborers and their unions did, and still do, for workers rights–the right to organize, the eight hour work day, the five hour work week, workman’s compensation, the abolishment of night work without compensation, equal pay for equal work, the abolishment of child labor, and more–and the growth they bring to our communities, economically and socially. You can learn more about the history of Labor Day here and here.
Stratford thanks you for the hard work you do to make our community strong. We’re proud to work alongside you.
