The position of Town Moderator is currently vacant and an interim moderator will have to be appointed until the next Town Meeting in March 2026. In New Hampshire, the Town Moderator is typically an elected official, chosen by ballot vote every two years at the Annual Town Meeting.
The moderator presides over town meetings and elections, ensuring they run smoothly and according to established rules.
Interested individuals have to be a registered voter of the Town of Stratford and be willing to familiarize themselves with the rules and procedures governing elections as well the Annual Town Meeting.
See here for a full description of the moderator’s responsibilities and duties.
