Changes in Town Clerk & Tax Collector Service

Nov 4, 2024 | News, Notices

Due to staff shortage, the Town Clerk & Tax Collector’s office will have a cut in hours and services starting November 11, 2024 until at least Dec 9. Maryann is out for an extended time for medical reasons. Here’s what will happen:

1. Town Clerk services will be suspended during Maryann’s absence

  • All DMV transactions will be handled by the Town Clerk in Columbia, Marcia Parkhurst. The town office is located at 1679 US Route 3. Her hours are:
Monday – Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm
    Phone: 603-237-5255
    email: towncolumbia@myfairpoint.net

Online renewals will be suspended during this time; you have to physically visit the office for any DMV services. Please bring your current/old registrations and ID!

  • For VITAL RECORDS (birth & death certificates, marriage licenses etc.) you can go to ANY Town Clerk’s office in New Hampshire. Please contact them beforehand to see if they require an appointment for a marriage license.

2. Tax collection will still be handled by the Town with reduced window hours

Office hours for the Tax Collector during Maryann’s absence will be reduced:

Mondays: 10 am -12 pm
Wednesdays: 10 am -12 pm

Online payments through the NH Tax Kiosk continue to be available and you can also pay your taxes (cash or check only) during regular hours at the Select Board’s office.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. Phone messages and emails may take a while to answer, due to our shortage in staff.

Thank you for your patience and consideration during this time – and please know we will try our best to help you.
